Lugana Riserva | Classic

As everyone knows, the 'Lugana DOC' denotes a dry white wine which has a 'controlled denomination of origin' since 1967. In addition, there is another gradation with the Lugana Riserva, which is precisely regulated by the production regulations: To be allowed to bear the addition Riserva, the Lugana must have a maturation period of at least 24 months, of which at least six months on the bottle.

This refining process gives a golden yellow white wine with amber tendencies with aging. The smell is delicate, pleasant and characteristic of this wine. On the palate it is soft, dry and harmonious with the least possible wood tones.

The Lugana appellation was founded in 1967 and developed in the moraine plain south of Lake Garda, on the ridge between Brescia and Verona, at the crossroads between Lombardy and Veneto, between the clay plain and the limestone hills.

From the castle of Sirmione to the tower of San Martino, from the promontory on Lake Garda to the gentle slopes of Pozzolengo, the Latin poet Catullus sings of the wine that owes its longevity and structure to the Turbiana grape, a local variety of Trebbiano whose production has been shown to have roots in the 18th century, a century of enlightenment and upheaval. A wine with a complex bouquet and a round, persistent finish. - Gerardo [TS02/23]
