Exclusively from blue grapes Italian red wine is produced. Red wine differs not only in the grape varieties used, but also in the production process. The pressed, initially more colorless juice of the grapes undergoes alcoholic fermentation during the mash, which, among other things, dissolves the red color pigments. Short maceration results in red wines with a fruity character, which tend to be drunk young and not stored. As the maceration progresses, the amount of dissolved color pigments, tannins and phenols increases, allowing for the development of a great storage wine. - Gerardo [TS06/22]

"A landscape in the flow of life. It rises and falls to the breath of nature, in the ups and downs of the days of sun and mist. The swing of the seasons swings in time, the vines sway on the gentle slopes. The best in the berries! And refined by the cellar master's hand into the bottle. Carefully stored until the cork curtain is lifted again. Then, in a timeless moment, the artist floats before the astonished eyes of the audience. His somersault ends in the hands of memory. ´Luce´ · Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2019, Tenuta Luce, Toskana
Luce · Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2019

Tenuta Luce, Tuscany

The Luce with its catchy label, is a world famous Sangiovese-Merlot blend with 24 months of barrel aging. The bouquet is floral and reminiscent of violets and roses, the tannic structure is smooth and tightly woven. On the palate, impressions of cocoa and balsamic notes, subtly smoky. For decades, this cuvée has stood for the skillful combination of two world-famous wine-growing countries and cultures: Italy (Sangiovese) and France (Merlot). - Gerardo [TS06/20]

"Dark ruby red. In the nose very expressive, after cassis, ground blueberries, in addition noble wood use, a breath sealing wax, in the reverberation fine malty notes. On the palate with lots of juice and pithy tannin, spreads over the tongue, with beautiful spicy notes, stoffig, in the reverberation then, however, a bit harsh and still very young." - Falstaff

"Accentuated aromas of blueberry, stone fruit and dark chocolate, also spices and sandalwood; in the mouth it presents its dense, tight tannin, but also has density and fullness until the ell-long finish on notes of black cherries and licorice." - Vinum

"An icon wine of the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Tenuta Luce Luce is recognized far and wide for its pretty sunshine motif on the front label. This mix of equal parts Sangiovese and Merlot is a symbolic marriage of Italy and France blended to safeguard the core identities of its two vinous protagonists. The Sangiovese adds wild rose, cherry and freshness; the Merlot brings on softness and texture. Each actor plays off the other in a flirtatious but ultimately complementary manner. This is a full-bodied Tuscan blend that will definitely give pleasure to that large crowd of Luce enthusiasts out there." - Robert Parker

"Violets, fresh mint and raspberry come together with reductive notes of tar as well as tobacco, leather and spices—cardamom jumps out in particular—on the complex nose of this wine. Dark berries emerge on the palate, with more herbs, spices, bitter chocolate and coffee grinds. The dusty tannins and searing acid confirm time will elevate this even further." - Danielle Callegari (Wine Enthusiast)

´Tal 1908´ · Cuvée Rosso DOC 2020, Kellerei Bozen, Südtirol
Tal 1908 · Cuvée Rosso DOC 2020

Kellerei Bozen, South Tyrol

A bottle of TAL Rosso in a high-quality original wooden box:

The vision of two superior wines, white and red, was born many years ago, finally with the construction of the new winery in Bolzano. The result is the TAL 1930 - the founding year of the St. Magdalena winery - which, with a great deal of patience and passion, an incessant experimentation by winegrowers and cellar masters, composes the best grapes into a unique pleasure experience. The grapes were harvested after careful examination from selected vines up to 30 years old and older from the very best vineyards on the Bolzano porphyry slopes up to the Ritten at 400 - 700 meters above sea level. The overriding principle of our oenologist Stephan Filippi: optimal conditions in the vineyard and cellar, plus strict selection.

Deep garnet tones blend with purple reflections, the richness of this unique composition remains an impenetrable mystery even for experienced connoisseurs. A symphony of ripe fruit, above all the aroma of raspberries, redcurrants and blackberries, with light tones of pepper and cloves, combined with hints of cocoa, graphite and liquorice in the depths. Overall, the cuvée is as elegant as an elaborate fan. The TAL 1908 caresses the palate with complex harmony, it is extremely pleasant and soft, with a balance of mineral freshness and pleasant acidity. The finish is mildly opulent. - Kellerei Bozen
