The name of this prestigious wine ('Cinquanta Vendemmie') means 'fifty vintages' and represents the long tradition of Santa Maria la Palma: the cuvee of Cagnulari and other native grape varieties has a concentrated ruby red color. The clearly spiced bouquet is reminiscent of sweet cherries and vanilla. Soft and pleasant on the palate, of persistent finish. - Gerardo [TS10/08]

© www.santamarialapalma.it The Cagnulari grapes for this Riserva are harvested exclusively by hand, then crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts a full four weeks, followed by further aging in stainless steel tanks. The small batches are then transferred to small barrique barrels of 225 to 350 liters, where they age again for 12-15 months. After the assemblage of the 'Cinquanta Vendemmie' follows another slow aging in the bottle. - Gerardo [TS10/08]
