Thanks to the careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard and the low yields, the Lagrein grape variety has become the top autochthonous grape in the red wine sector. It thrives best on warm sandy soils. Aging in wooden barrels is an absolute must. Grape material from the slopes around Bolzano is used for the aging of Lagrein Riserva.
