Bolgheri Sassicaia, the icon of Italian red wine, is celebrating its 50th anniversary and remains true to its legendary style with the 2018 vintage. This Super Tuscan, for which a separate DOC was created, impresses with its finesse, elegance and exceptional balance. A precise bouquet of cassis, blackberries, cedar wood and fine tobacco notes unfolds on the nose, complemented by a subtle freshness of mint and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and full of energy, with ripe dark fruit, orange peel, licorice and a hint of coffee. The fine-grained, perfectly integrated tannins and lively acidity give it great tension and remarkable ageing potential.
