Prosecco | Grape variety

Prosecco, which originally comes from the hills between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, has always been known for its quality and unmistakable taste. The mild and balanced microclimate of the southern Prealps offers ideal conditions for growing the Glera grape, formerly known as Prosecco. This region, which stretches in the triangle between Valdobbiadene, Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano, is narrowly defined and known for its exceptional wines.

The south-facing hills benefit from optimal sunshine and a mild, temperate climate, which has a positive effect on the quality of the grapes. The vineyards, with their moderate grape yields, produce first-class base wines for Prosecco year after year.

Recently, however, an increase in Prosecco products without a precise designation of origin has been observed. In order to distinguish genuine Prosecco from other sparkling wine products and to guarantee authenticity, it is therefore crucial to specify 'Conegliano Valdobbiadene'. Only in this way can the consumer be sure of receiving a product of the highest quality from the traditional Prosecco zone. - Gerardo [TS04/24]
