Pfitscher | South Tyrol
The Pfitscher Winery is a traditional family winery in Montan (Italian: Montagna), South Tyrol, which has been cultivating wine with unbroken passion since 1861. Today, Pfitscher combines over seven generations of knowledge, creativity, and craftsmanship: the business is characterized by a clear style, a respectful connection to nature, and an uncompromising pursuit of quality. Selected grape varieties are cultivated on steep slopes with gradients of up to 45 degrees, resulting in elegant, mineral-rich wines with a strong terroir character.
The new Pfitscher winery, built in 2011, stands for sustainability at the highest level: it was the first winery in Italy to receive the “CasaClima Wine” award and combines modern architecture with functionality and respect for the surrounding landscape. The family business presents both classic wines such as Pinot Nero, Lagrein, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a distinctive portfolio of single vineyards. A particular highlight is the Pinot Nero Riserva “Matan,” whose depth, structure, and character of origin exemplify the Pfitscher profile. - Gerardo [TS12/25]
