Benedetto Cavalieri | Puglia
The Cavalieri family has been dedicated to growing durum wheat on carefully selected fields in the heart of Apulia since the 19th century. They have been cultivating the fertile soils of this region, which is known for its excellent conditions for producing high-quality grain, since the 1800s. However, the agricultural crisis that followed the unification of Italy in 1861 presented the family with major challenges. The previous prosperity resulting from wheat cultivation was no longer secure, so new paths had to be taken.
Andrea Cavalieri, a visionary of his time, recognized the opportunity to market the region's special durum wheat beyond the country's borders. In 1872, he laid the foundations for a flourishing trading company that not only promoted the export of the first-class wheat, but later also enabled the construction of specialized mills that ensured optimal milling. This development marked the beginning of a success story that continues to this day.
Benedetto Cavalieri pasta is the result of this long tradition and testifies to the artisan excellence, sustainable cultivation and passion of a family dedicated to producing first-class pasta. With its unique texture and unmistakable taste, it brings a piece of Apulian history and quality to the plate. Ideal for anyone who appreciates authentic enjoyment and traditional values.- Gerardo [TS01/25]
"Apulia is the pasta stronghold of Italy and Cavalieri is a guardian of the art of pasta. His pasta dries for two days - the industrial pasta is ready in just three hours." - Der Feinschmecker
