Gaglioppo | Grape variety
The history of the red Gaglioppo grape variety goes back a long way and is closely linked to the Calabria region. It is considered to be one of the oldest grape varieties and is possibly related to Aglianico and Magliocco. Gaglioppo thrives particularly well in dry climates and develops high sugar levels, which leads to an increased alcohol content. As a result, the famous Cirò Rosso and Cirò Rosato, for example, are characterized by their strong and tasty characteristics. - Gerardo [TS03/24]
