Tuscany | Wine region
Between Florence and Siena, the Strada Chiantigiana leads through one of Italy's most beautiful and historic landscapes with vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. This is considered synonymous with the way of life and cheerful joie de vivre beyond the Alps - not least because of the good wines. Tuscany is one of the most popular Italian vacation regions and, along with Piedmont, also the most important wine-growing region in terms of quality. On around 65,000 hectares of vineyards, the country offers an almost paradisiacal variety of different red wines between rolling hills and a beautiful coastal region. An enormous role is played by the Sangiovese grape, which is present at least in part in most of the wines. - Gerardo [TS07/22]
