Italian sparkling wines in magnum bottles combine craftsmanship, elegance and exceptional ageing potential - regardless of whether it is a delicate Prosecco from Valdobbiadene or a complex Franciacorta from Lombardy. In these two traditional regions in particular, winegrowers appreciate the large format not only for visual reasons, but above all because of its positive effect on the ageing of the sparkling wines. The magnum bottle, with its larger volume and comparatively lower oxygen input per liter, ensures a finer perlage, a slower development of aromas and an impressive balance on the palate. Franciacorta in particular - Italy's highest quality classically fermented sparkling wine - benefits enormously from storage in a magnum. The long ageing on the lees gives the wines in large bottles additional depth, creaminess and complexity.

Selected top vintages of Prosecco Superiore, particularly from the DOCG zone around Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, are also occasionally bottled in magnums. Here, the fruity, floral character of Prosecco is revealed in a particularly clear, elegant form, which also makes an impression on festive occasions. Last but not least, magnum bottles are also a symbol of hospitality, festivity and style - they are often filled, corked and shaken by hand, making them truly unique. Their price is therefore not simply the result of a mathematical doubling of the standard bottle, but the result of elaborate processing and the careful selection of the highest quality cuvées.
