Ebner | South Tyrol
The Ebner Winery, high up on the sunny Ritten plateau, embodies a quiet but powerful art of winemaking. With just a few hectares of vineyards and a strong identification with the region, Florian and Brigitte Unterthiner have made it their mission to produce wines full of character that reflect the alpine terroir in all its mineral clarity. Their work blends ancient farming traditions with a modern focus on quality, resulting in wines that are not loud but profound.
The vineyards on the Ritten not only shape the landscape, but also the style of the wines: high altitudes, large temperature fluctuations between day and night, and calcareous soils allow for slow ripening, which is expressed in structure, freshness, and elegant complexity. The range of grape varieties extends from Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon to the rare Grüner Veltliner, but well-cultivated red wines such as Pinot Noir and Vernatsch are also part of the repertoire - always with the ambitious goal of bringing the dew-rich nature of South Tyrol to life in liquid form. - Gerardo [TS12/25]
