Franz Haas | South Tyrol
The Franz Haas Winery is an institution in South Tyrolean viticulture—rooted in deep family tradition yet always at the forefront of innovation. Since its founding in 1880, it has developed over eight generations into one of the region's most renowned producers, cultivating Pinot Nero, white wines, and high-quality red wines with great passion. The family's philosophy combines scientific calculation with artistic sensitivity, which is why each wine embodies not only the region but also the personality of Franz Haas.
The grapes thrive on around 55 to 60 hectares of vineyards at altitudes between approximately 220 and 1150 meters - from Montan to Neumarkt and Aldein. This spectacular altitude range allows for a wide spectrum of microclimates and soils, which are impressively reflected in the style of the wines. With a focus on Pinot Nero, but also with classics such as Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato Rosa, and Lagrein, Franz Haas embodies both alpine elegance and expressive diversity. - Gerardo [TS12/25]
