Palmento Costanzo | Piemont

Palmento Costanzo is a small, family-run winery on the northern slopes of Mount Etna that is dedicated to producing exceptional wines. Situated in Passopisciaro, at an altitude of 650 to 780 meters, the organically cultivated vineyards extend over ten hectares and are planted on centuries-old terraces of lava rock. The soils, rich in minerals and volcanic ash, give the wines of Palmento Costanzo a special expressiveness and depth that is reflected in every bottle.

The story of the winery began in 2011, when Valeria and Mimmo Costanzo decided to restore a historic Palmento - a traditional wine production facility built in lava rock that was once the center of Etnean viticulture. In these buildings, the grapes were processed on several levels after the harvest: First by gently treading with the feet, then through an ingenious system of stone gutters (cannedda) that channeled the must into underground barrels. This construction method, which blends harmoniously into the landscape, is an impressive testimony to the region's long wine-growing history.

With deep respect for this heritage, Palmento Costanzo relies on traditional vinification methods, complemented by modern approaches that preserve the quality and authenticity of the wines.
