Renato Corino | Piedmont
The wines of the Corino brothers have long been known for outstanding qualities, but the big breakthrough came only at the end of the 80s. At that time, the decision was also made to dispense with artificial fertilizers and other additives - the yield per hectare is also severely limited by thinning. As with many of the smaller wineries in Piedmont or even in nearby Burgundy, Corino's wines benefit from manual labor such as manual pigeage. Winemaking legend Elio Altare is Renato Corino's teacher and advised him on the strenuous but rewarding artisanal production of the wines. - Gerardo [TS07/22]
"Undeterred, the generous, helpful winemaker and cellar master in personal union continues to climb towards the summit of quality. With his pure-toned, modern and powerful Barolo and Barbera labels, he manages the balancing act between richness and elegance in perfectly balanced harmony." - Gambero Rosso
