Coffee Beans | Italy
The name Moka Rica is composed of 'Moka', which is not only a synonym for coffee, but also a very appreciated Ethiopian coffee variety, and 'Rica', the last part of the name of the country Costa Rica, where one of the best coffees in the world comes from.
It all began in the 1950s, when the writer Silvio Carella, together with his son Franco, founded Moka Rica in a warehouse just a few meters away in the city center. With him, the small company expanded and became known in the regions of Emilia Romagna, Marche and Abruzzo. In order to accommodate the ever-increasing quantities of green coffee he was importing, Franco moved the company's headquarters to the artisanal area where he now lives, with a surface area of 6,000 square meters, 3,500 square meters of which are covered. With the help of his daughter Franca, the name Moka Rica is known not only in Italy but also abroad. - Gerardo [TS07/22]
