San Martino | Sardegna
Mirto is a traditional liqueur from the island of Sardinia, made from the myrtle plant (Myrtus communis) - a wild shrub typical of the Mediterranean scrub. The Mirto di San Martino distillery, founded in 1987 by the Meloni family, devotes great care and craftsmanship to the production of different varieties of Mirto. Production is based on the careful selection of high-quality, wild-growing myrtle berries and leaves, which are harvested by hand and macerated using traditional methods. The aim is to capture the natural aroma of Sardinia in every bottle.
The range includes three varieties with a strong character: Mirto Rosso, classically made from dark berries; Mirto Bianco, which is distilled from the fresh leaves of the plant and is characterized by subtle bitter tones; and Mirto Nero, also known as “Oronero Sardo”, a particularly concentrated and intense variety with exceptional depth and richness. Each variety stands for the close connection between nature, tradition and careful craftsmanship - and makes San Martino's Mirto an authentic expression of Sardinian culinary culture. - Gerardo [TS06/25]
