Fasoli Gino | Veneto

The Fasoli Gino winery, run by brothers Natalino and Amadio Fasoli in Veneto, embodies an impressive combination of traditional winemaking and innovative processes. In addition to their family's heritage, the brothers have also perfected the grape-drying process that they use frequently at their winery.

In the picturesque Veneto region, known for its breathtaking landscapes and exquisite wines, the Fasoli brothers grow several grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Corvina, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. What makes their wines special, however, is the way they process the grapes.

The Fasoli brothers have refined the art of drying the grapes, also called 'appassimento'. In this process, the grapes are carefully selected after harvest and then spread out on special racks or mats for controlled drying. This process concentrates the sugar content and aromas of the grapes, giving the wines exceptional complexity and intensity.

The Fasoli Gino winery is committed to sustainability and uses natural ventilation techniques to dry the grapes in order to minimize energy consumption. This keeps the wines not only authentic, but also environmentally friendly. Fasoli Gino wines are the result of this careful grape drying technique. They offer a wide range of aromas and flavors, from fruity and floral nuances to ripe berries and spices. Each sip is an experience that reflects the essence of the sun-drenched grapes and the masterful craftsmanship of the Fasoli brothers. - Gerardo [TS05/23]

´Valpo´ · Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC 2014, Fasoli Gino, Venetien

Valpo · Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC 2014 (Bio)

Fasoli Gino, Veneto

The deep dark and concentrated Rosso Veronese 'Valpo' has much of its 'big brother', the world-famous Amarone: the color is a rich garnet red, in the aroma of dried fruit, coffee and some licorice. The palate is fleshy and juicy, marked by sweet tannins. The complex aroma continues into the long finish. - Gerardo [TS05/15]

"Decent, restrained bouquet with hints of cherry, chocolate and dark berries. Also cranberry and dried plum. Soft attack on the palate, nice acidity that lends length. Lots of melting and fine tannin. Long finish." - Falstaff

Calle was born in the nineties from the rooted cuttings of Orgno, the first vineyard where the Fasoli brothers experimented the practices of natural farming. This Merlot takes its name from the splendid and quiet place on the hillside, Calle, on the border with Illasi. A wine of great longevity. - Gerardo [TS05/18]

´Orgno´ · Merlot IGT 2016, Fasoli Gino, Venetien
Orgno · Merlot IGT 2016 (Bio)

Fasoli Gino, Veneto

The Merlot vines were planted in 1978 in the Orgno vineyard and used in the wine of the same name more than ten years later. This minimum age of the vines guarantees high quality product: intense ruby color in the glass, on the nose notes of ripe red fruit, leather, truffle and licorice. On the palate of rich and balanced structure, enveloping and powerful.

This wine from the Prestige line of the Fasoli brothers is the result of decades of research into the Valpolicella terroir. The selection of suitable vineyards and their exposure, the understanding of the microclimate and the extremely limited grape material allow for a truly great wine. This wine was intentionally classified as IGT because grapes and aging do not want to comply with the DOC regulations. - Gerardo [TS05/17]

´Sande´ · Pinot-Nero IGT 2013, Fasoli Gino, Venetien
Sande · Pinot-Nero IGT 2013

Fasoli Gino, Veneto

Intense ruby color, nose present aromas of plum and rum pot, typical of dried grapes. Harmoniously combines spicy notes with hints of ripe red fruit. The fine and persistent tannins balance the high alcohol content and provide an overall very persistent finish.

The history of Pinot Noir Sande dates back to the late 80s. The extremely low yields due to the cultivation create a grape material that has an exceptionally high concentration of sugar and aromas. Subsequent grape drying further concentrates the full aromatic potential of the fruit, creating a unique wine in its category. - Gerardo [TS05/14]
