Cerasuolo di Vittoria | Classic
Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a Sicilian red wine and since 1973 the only wine with DOC status from the province of Ragusa and since 2005 the only DOCG wine of Sicily. The grapes for Cerasuolo may only be grown in the provinces of Ragusa, Caltanissetta and the Metropolitan City of Catania, using 50-70% Nero d'Avola and 30-50% Frappato.
Typical of this wine is the cherry to light violet red color and the floral and fruity aroma. On the palate, Cerasuolo di Vittoria is dry, full, soft and harmonious. Remarkable is the considerable shelf life of the wine, which is said to be sometimes even several decades. - Gerardo [TS02/24]
