Abruzzo | Wine region
The climate of Abruzzo is characterized by large temperature fluctuations that occur not only between seasons, but also between day and night, especially in the summer months. Whether on the coast or in hilly areas, almost everywhere in the region you can find the calcareous clay soil on which the most famous grape variety, Montepulciano, thrives. The highest quality is offered by the DOCG area Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane, where red wine and rosé are pressed. In addition to this universally known red wine, there are many simple red wines in Abruzzo that are powerful and original. This is where the true Italian winemaker's craft can be seen. The dominant white grape of Abruzzo is Trebbiano. From it is pressed the famous DOC wine Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. - Gerardo [TS07/22]
