With the Studio project, Ca' Rugate is exploring new limits in winemaking. This single-varietal Trebbiano di Soave comes from vines that are over 40 years old and pushes the boundaries of what is possible: The fermentation process deliberately progresses slowly and part of the wine is aged in French barriques before being bottled and further refined due to subsequent bottle ageing.

Ca' Rugate is breaking new ground with this study of the Veneto terroir, and it will certainly not be the last. Intense straw yellow color. On the nose, a bouquet of pout pourri and green tea with light notes of white-fleshed fruit and flint. The palate is enveloping, dense but not heavy. Riserva del Lupo · Lugana Riserva DOC 2020

The harvest of the grapes for Lugana Riserva del Lupo takes place between late October and early November. During this time, some noble rot has already formed on the grapes, which transfers the minerality of the soils around the winery into the wine.

The aging of this high quality Lugana takes place for two years in stainless steel tanks and another six months in bottle. Ca' Lojera's aging cellar is located below sea level and naturally maintains a constant ambient temperature.
