Story: Camillo Montori | Abruzzo

The Camillo Montori winery is enthroned on the old feudal estate of Monte Aureo in the Abruzzo hills, just a few kilometers from the sea. The old Mezzadrile estate and the venerable Montori family farm were transformed back in the 1960s. Today, the farm extends over an area of around 70 hectares, divided according to the various production needs: 50 hectares for vines, 10 hectares for fruit growing, 5 hectares for olive groves and the rest for the typical mixed cultivation of Abruzzo. A modern winery with a capacity of 10,000 hectoliters processes the grapes grown on the estate.

The resulting wines are the result of persistent work and a confident approach to advanced winemaking techniques that, while respecting ancient processing methods, always look for modern technologies to sublimate the products of a generous land. A small guest house has been renovated next to the winery, where the estate's wines can be tasted, accompanied by simple dishes from a cuisine that can be described as 'border cuisine', as it incorporates traditional influences not only from Abruzzo but also from the Marche region.

Inside the wine cellar there is also a small museum, equipped with tools and objects from the winery as well as those from Camillo Montori's loving and persistent search to revive the old processing methods of our region. The winery's wines are mainly sold in the region, especially in restaurants, wine bars, specialized wine stores and to private individuals.
