La Crotta die Vegneron, the cooperative winery of Chambave, has existed since 1980 and was founded with the intention of breaking the dynamics of abandonment of viticulture by the small landowners of Chambave and surrounding municipalities. Thanks to a significant contribution from the Valle d'Aosta region, it was soon possible to process the grapes of 65 members using the most modern cellar technology. Today, the 65 founding members have become a proud 135, whose vineyards are located in the communes of Chambave, Chatillon, Nus Pontey, Saint Vincent, Fenis, Quart, Verrayes, Saint Christophe and Saint Denis. The cooperative is in constant expansion, thanks to the drive of its president and the equipment of the wineries, which can produce far more than the 300,000 bottles per year. The product range of La Crotta di Vegneron includes some of the most interesting DOC wines of the Valle d'Aosta: for red wines, Nus Rosso and Chambave Rosso; for white wines, Chambave Muscat and Müller Thurgau. Moscato and Pinot Grigio grapes are also used to produce sweet wines, sold under the names of Chambave Moscato Passito and Nus Malvoisie Passito, respectively. These are particularly aromatic, sweet and long-lasting wines that are ideal as dessert accompaniments or meditation wines.
