Blog: Feliciana · Lombardy

The owner of the Lake Garda winery Feliciana is the hardworking Massimo Sbruzzi. The winery, with its 18 hectares of land, operates an agriturismo in the midst of the picturesque Lake Garda countryside in addition to growing grapes. On his small estate, Massimo produces a range of wines - but his Lugana Felugan remains the most famous. The reduced-yield harvest comes exclusively from the farm's own 7 hectares of vineyards. Their harvest is done by hand in small baskets and in only one pass, which, together with the low yields per hectare, allows for high quality. Massimo stops fermentation when the alcohol content is around 13%, resulting in a wine with 5-7 grams of residual sugar, which harmonizes well with the natural acidity of the Lugana grape (Turbiana). - Gerardo
