Nestore Bosco: tradition and innovation in the vineyards of Abruzzo
The historic Nestore Bosco winery has its origins in the gentle hills around Pescara, but four decades ago the family decided to continue its wine-growing activities in the picturesque and inspiring surroundings of Nocciano. This charming village is surrounded by both the majestic Maiella massif, which was recently declared a UNESCO Global Geopark, and the imposing Gran Sasso. Nestled in the almost untouched hinterland of Abruzzo, the vineyards benefit from a microclimate that is favored by the proximity to the sea. The gentle sea breezes that blow here create ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The long tradition of viticulture is alive in this region, and the Nestore Bosco winery is an important part of this history.

The roots of Nestore Bosco
The Nestore Bosco winery can look back on a long and impressive history dating back to the end of the 19th century. It was founded by Giovanni Bosco, a visionary whose foresight and dedication laid the foundations for the winery of today. Giovanni Bosco knew how to preserve traditional values while at the same time being prepared to gradually and thoughtfully integrate innovations into viticulture. This mix of preservation and development laid the foundations for the impressive quality of Nestore Bosco's wines and helped the winery to meet the challenges of the future. The Bosco family has managed to preserve its heritage while continuously developing the winery, making it an important name in Abruzzo viticulture.

Tradition and innovation
Today, the winery is run by Stefania and Nestore Bosco, whose passion and commitment to viticulture are leading the company into the future. What is particularly remarkable is that their children are already actively involved in the family business and are gradually taking on important tasks. This ensures that the Nestore Bosco winery not only continues the family tradition, but also remains on the path to success in the long term. The family enthusiastically pursues the balancing act between preserving traditions and implementing innovative techniques and ideas. This combination ensures that Nestore Bosco wines are always of the highest quality and at the same time at the cutting edge of winemaking technology.

Organic certification and basic principles
A decisive step in the winery's development was the decision to switch to organic farming methods. Nestore Bosco has been certified organic since 2018 and follows four basic principles: sustainable production, integrity at every stage of the production cycle, customer well-being and simplicity. The philosophy of simplicity is not only reflected in production, but also in the design of their wines, which are characterized by clarity and transparency. Nestore Bosco's wines should reflect the terroir as authentically as possible, without artificial influences overpowering the natural aromas. These principles are the basis for the winery's success and help to win the trust of wine lovers both in Italy and internationally.

Wine diversity and quality
Nestore Bosco has made a name for itself, particularly with its outstanding interpretations of the Montepulciano grape, the best-known and most widespread grape variety in Abruzzo. Nestore Bosco's Montepulciano is characterized by its complexity and deep aromas that capture the essence of the region in every bottle. But the winery has much more to offer: The Cerasuolo di Abruzzo, a lively and fruity wine, and the award-winning white wines made from Trebbiano, Pecorino and Chardonnay are also outstanding. These wines not only reflect the terroir of Abruzzo, but also Nestore Bosco's philosophy of presenting the wines in their purest and most authentic form. Every wine produced here is the result of years of experience and dedication, and the quality is always of the highest level.

Sustainability and environmental protection
One particularly interesting aspect of Nestore Bosco's vineyards is that a large part of the vineyards are located within a national park. This location not only underlines the winery's commitment to environmental protection, but also shows how important the sustainable use of natural resources is to the family. The winery relies on ecological practices that protect the environment while maximizing the quality of the grapes. The proximity to the national park and the respectful treatment of nature have also contributed to the winery's prominent position in the region. The vineyards are tended with the utmost care and attention is paid to ensuring that agricultural practices are in harmony with nature in order to preserve the landscape and biodiversity.

Preserving heritage and promoting innovation
Nestore Bosco has managed to preserve the family's heritage while promoting the spirit of innovation. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies has made the winery a pioneer in Abruzzo. The company has not only helped to improve wine production in the region, but also to increase the appreciation of viticulture in Abruzzo worldwide. Nestore Bosco's history, deep connection to the region and passion for exceptional wine is in every bottle. The winery remains a beacon of quality winemaking and captures the true essence of Abruzzo in its wines, which continue to delight connoisseurs and experts alike. - Gerardo [TS04/25]
