Casanova di Neri | Tuscany
Casanova di Neri overlooks Montalcino, nestled in a unique and enchanting setting that overlooks the surrounding hills and blends harmoniously into this magnificent landscape, reminiscent of Ambrogio Lorenzetti's paintings from 1300. The winery is almost completely integrated into the hillside and faces north. The humidity and temperature inside the estate remain completely natural and constant. The architectural design is based on the underlying idea of our production concept: minimizing the impact and emphasizing the naturalness of the process. The winery is divided into different levels according to Casanova di Neri's needs, following the laws of gravity.
The production process is carried out with the utmost respect for the quality of the grapes, with the aim of enhancing the unique personality of the different vineyards from which they come. The grapes are selected on the magnificent terrace overlooking Montalcino. The freshly harvested grapes are first selected by hand on a first sorting belt and then destemmed. A second, meticulous selection, grain by grain, is carried out using an optical selector. Finally, the grapes that are still intact are transported naturally by gravity to the fermentation vats. - Gerardo [TS02/24]
"A winery that in the last twenty years has become the leader of Montalcino. 65 hectares of vineyards on different sides of the territory. An avant-garde winery, today a reference for the designation of origin, with the presence of different types of barrels for the improvement of Brunello, expression of the great passion of Giacomo Neri, creator of this wonderful ride to the top of the world wine. Three Brunello products with different styles that respect the region of origin: the 'Etichetta Bianca' (White Label) of the freshest vineyards, Tenuta Nuova from the vineyards in the south and the Cerretalto Cru from a single vineyard with a very special terroir." - Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine)
"Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, a man with a dream: to make great red wines in Montalcino. After his death in 1991, his son Giacomo took over the winery, and today he is still the soul of Casnova di Neri, supported by his sons Giovanni and Gianlorenzo. The philosophy of the family business is based on the best terroir, careful care of the vines, passion and know-how. The result is unique wines with great character and an unmistakable, clearly defined style that is not influenced by fashion trends." - Falstaff
