Kettmeir | South Tyrol
The Kettmeir Winery is a vibrant combination of down-to-earth tradition and modern wine innovation - right in the heart of sunny South Tyrol. Founded in Caldaro in 1919, it has established itself over the decades as one of the pioneers of high-quality sparkling wines. Today, the winery cultivates around 55 hectares of vineyards and maintains close partnerships with around 60 winegrowers to ensure the best grape quality from a wide variety of locations in the lowlands.
The vines thrive on varied, mineral-rich soils of limestone, moraine, and scree, while the climate is characterized by cool north winds and warm south currents. This combination creates ideal conditions for elegant, fresh, and typical Alto Adige viticulture. Kettmeir focuses on classic South Tyrolean grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Nero, Sauvignon, and Gewürztraminer—and is also known for its excellent Spumanti wines produced using bottle fermentation. - Gerardo [TS12/25]
