The addition Cartizze denotes the most sought-after, because extremely rare and high-quality Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. A comparison of vineyard acreage alone illustrates the value of this particular Prosecco: the Cartizze site covers 106 hectares of vineyards, while the total acreage of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is around 6,100 hectares. Mind you, Cartizze is being compared here with the already very high quality DOCG appellation and not with the simpler DOC variants, whose cultivation area is still many times higher.

Cartizze has its own aura, because this sparkling wine is no less than the nucleus of Prosecco. It is considered the king of sparkling wines from the hills and mountains in the area of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano in the province of Treviso, north of Venice. In Cartizze the yield limit is halved, in addition to the much higher effort due to the steep slopes.
