Sirch | Friuli
A family with vision and roots
Sirch is a Friulian family of determined and visionary people who have been cultivating the land for generations - always with an open eye to the future. As a traditional farming family, they have always been involved in viticulture, particularly on the heights above the Judrio river and in the plains crossed by the Natisone. Over the years, a small local production has developed into a business that is now synonymous with excellence on an international level. Despite the growth, the artisanal approach, the attention to detail and the intensive care of each individual vineyard have not changed.

Between watercourses, borders and cultures
The Sirch family's vineyards are located in a unique geographical area of tension - a crossroads of waters, countries and peoples. To the east, the Judrio River marks the border with Slovenia, while to the west, the Natisone River borders the renowned Friuli Colli Orientali DOC region. This geographical wealth is reflected in the diversity of soils, locations and microclimates, which together make up a significant part of the Sirch terroir.

Historical depth and cultural intertwining
Theodatus, King of the Goths, already mentioned the strong winegrowing around Cividale, one of the most important municipalities in the region, in 534 AD. The deep roots of viticulture can also be seen in Lombard art, where grapes and vines are often depicted as symbols. The Sirch vineyards are nestled between the municipalities of Cividale del Friuli, Prepotto and Premariacco - places where cultural boundaries intermingle with encounters and exchanges. This diversity is reflected in every single one of the family's wines.

Varietal diversity and sensory depth
At Sirch, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Local grape varieties such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Schioppettino meet international classics such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Merlot. The resulting wines - from elegant, delicate white wines to structured, complex red wines - all bear the signature of the Friulian terroir. What they have in common is the combination of depth, elegance, spice and aromatic longevity.

The terroir: 'Ponca' as the basis for quality
The vines grow on marl and sandstone hills at altitudes between 100 and 350 meters above sea level - the so-called 'Ponca', as it is called in the local dialect. In the north, the Julian Alps provide protection from cold air masses, while the Adriatic Sea guarantees constant light and ventilation. As early as the end of the 19th century, the region was described as particularly valuable in terms of geology and viticulture - a reputation that is still impressively confirmed today.

Cladrecis: The essence of Sirch wines
The old village of Cladrecis is where the most expressive and long-lived wines of the estate are produced: the Cladrecis Chardonnay and the Cladrecis Rosso. These top wines represent the essence of what Sirch is all about: a refined structure, balance of spice and harmony, as well as an impressively long aromatic persistence. Here, craftsmanship, nature and culture combine to create an experience that goes far beyond the wine itself.

Conclusion: The Sirch winery is not just a family business - it is an ambassador of Friuli that impressively combines past, present and future. - Gerardo [TS04/25]
