The Ligurian Taggiasca olive is considered one of Italy's finest, albeit still little-known, table olives. Originally, it was mainly used to produce the famous Ligurian olive oil, but it is also a delight on its own. Its small, almost inconspicuous fruits in bluish-purple hues impress with their natural, untreated appearance and their particularly fine, harmonious taste.
The Taggiasca is especially praised for its balanced aroma, which combines fruity notes with a slight nuttiness. This makes it not only a great base for top-notch olive oil, but also an awesome table olive that adds a special touch to antipasti, salads, or Mediterranean dishes.
