Mazzetti Distilleries | Piedmont
The history of the Mazzetti family began in the heart of Monferrato in 1846, when Filippo Mazzetti founded his own distillery - long before Italy was united and decades before the country's industrial revolution. The first distillery was established in Montemagno and soon made a name for itself thanks to the quality of its distillates. As demand steadily increased, Filippo's son Luigi set up a new branch at the current company headquarters in Altavilla Monferrato. Despite the challenges of two world wars and economic upheaval, Mazzetti d'Altavilla developed into one of the most important distilleries in Piedmont.
Today, Chiara, Elisa and Silvia Mazzetti are the seventh generation to run the family business. Their deep attachment to tradition, coupled with modern technology and an unwavering passion for distilling, characterizes the philosophy of the company. The harmonious, aromatic grappas are made from high-quality grape marc and reflect the essence of Piedmontese grape varieties. Every sip is an expression of history, craftsmanship and unadulterated quality - and is reminiscent of the pioneering spirit with which Filippo Mazzetti once realized his vision. - Gerardo [TS06/25]

Mazzetti Distilleries | Piedmont | Buy at Gerardo
In 1846, 15 years before the unification of Italy and over 50 years before the first Fiat brand automobile rolled off the assembly line, Filippo Mazzetti decided to set up his own distillery in the cradle of these very important events for Italy, Piedmont. It was in the heart of Monferrato, in Montemagno to be precise, that the first distillery of the Mazzetti family was born.
A few decades after its foundation, it was up to Filippo's successor, Luigi, to set up a new establishment, as the original distillery could no longer meet the increased demand for Mazzetti products. This was established at the present headquarters in Altavilla Monferrato. After the turmoil of the two world wars and the subsequent depression, the company, under the leadership of the Mazzetti family, developed into one of the most prestigious and awarded distilleries of Monferrato.
Mazzetti d'Altavilla is a distillery that remains committed to its roots and principles. This passion with which the Mazzetti family distills its high quality grape marc, creates distillates of the highest quality. The experience of the old masters and the renewed technology, transmits to the grappa the typical perfumes and aromas of the Piedmontese vineyards. The harmony, the fragrance and the scents of the distillates convey pleasant sensations with every sip. This is the reason why today we can still experience the taste that led Filippo to found his own distillery a good 165 years ago. - Gerardo
