Montanaro Distillery | Tuscany

Montanaro Distillery | Tuscany

The distillery of Dottore Mario Montanaro is specialized in the distillation of the highest quality marcs of Piedmont - first of all Barolo. Immediately after pressing, the marcs are taken to the distillery to preserve the natural aroma and freshness. During the distillation process, the qualitatively simpler components are removed, so that only the best material comes into the further processing. The resulting grappa is refined for years in large wooden barrels in the company's own barrel cellar. This process gives the grape marc brandy its elegance, smoothness and unmistakable bouquet. - Gerardo

In the alchemical language, the transformation of a metal, or a man, from the 'raw' to the 'noble' state, means a maturation to a secret identity, a regeneration at the end of which every metal would become the most precious metal (gold) and every man freed from impurity and venality. Parallel to this philosophy, a less utopian but equally thorough research developed, thanks to the work of advanced craftsmen whose true task was to discover the essence of agriculture and its transformation. The distillation vessels represented, in the general assumption, fanciful symbols of an esoteric process and became, and still are, the indispensable tools for the production of the enchanting distillates. - Distilleria Montanaro
