Similar to Limoncello, Aurantium is produced in a complex, multi-step process. For the production, the aromas and essential oils from the orange peel of untreated oranges are dissolved by means of alcohol and brought to drinking strength with a water-sugar solution. The oranges are peeled in the first, time-consuming step - then the peels are soaked in a 95 percent alcohol solution for three to four weeks. After the standing time, this so-called infusion is diluted with water and sugar and slightly heated. The infusion is again added to the soaked orange peels and after another week it is filtered and bottled. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
Gerardo's Notes: Liqueur obtained from the infusion of selected orange peels ripened in the warm Sicilian climate without treatment. The fragrance and aroma of the peels cut by hand and the centuries of experience of the house provide the unique taste of this liqueur. A specialty preferred cold at the end of a meal, with soda or seltzer as a thirst quencher, natural on desserts and ice cream, in cocktails to personalize the taste.
