Bianco di Custoza Bianco di Custoza

Bianco di Custoza | Classic

The Bianco di Custoza is an elegant white wine classic from south-eastern Lake Garda in Veneto, whose DOC status was confirmed in 1971. The typical straw-yellow cuvée of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Friulano (also known as Trebbianello) and Cortese (Bianca Fernanda), supplemented by up to 30% of other varieties such as Chardonnay, Malvasia or Manzoni Bianco, thrives on slopes on moraine-covered hills between Verona and Lake Garda. The combination of these grapes gives the wine a fine floral, fruity aroma, a soft texture and a pleasant spiciness - characteristics that make it a fresh summer companion.

With its favorable price-performance ratio, the Bianco di Custoza is considered the charming “little brother” of the Lugana, without hiding behind it. It is available in different versions - as a classic still DOC, as an upscale Superiore version with longer barrel ageing and higher alcohol, as well as a sparkling Spumante or even a noble sweet Passito. It is best enjoyed well chilled at 8-10 °C as a refreshing aperitif or with light dishes such as seafood, vegetable pasta and cold platters. Despite its youthful character, it often shows good maturity and depth even after one or two years of ageing. - Gerardo [TS07/25]

"The territory of Custoza is unique in viticultural terms: a perfect symbiosis between the lake and its hills. Lake Garda has the mass to create its own microclimate, very temperate and benefitting from constant breezes. This is where, millions of years ago, a glacier carved out the biggest morainic amphitheatre in the Alps, thereby creating the rolling hills that are home today to the vineyards of Custoza." - Decanter
