Moscato d Asti | Classic
Moscato d'Asti is the classic Piedmontese wine for pleasure and enjoyment: its combination of low alcohol content, light effervescence, and wonderfully fresh fruit sweetness makes it a fine aperitif and a stylish introduction to the world of wine. It is made from the Moscato Bianco grape variety, grown in the traditional growing areas of the provinces of Asti, Cuneo, and Alessandria in Piedmont.
In the glass, Moscato d'Asti usually displays a delicate straw yellow color and a fine, lively effervescence—quite subtle, but characteristic of its charming style. Its bouquet is aromatic and inviting: typical are floral notes (acacia blossoms, orange blossom), nuanced aromas of yellow and stone fruits such as peach or apricot, occasionally complemented by honey or citrus accents.
On the palate, the wine combines a pleasant, natural sweetness with fresh acidity and gentle effervescence — a harmonious interplay that makes it light, elegant, and very accessible. With its comparatively low alcohol content (often well below 6% vol.) and fine perlage, Moscato d'Asti is ideal as a cheerful aperitif or an elegant accompaniment to desserts, fresh fruit, pastries, or light appetizers. It is a prime example of a wine that is enjoyable without being overly complex — light, playful, and typically Piedmontese. - Gerardo [11/25]
