Flora · Weißburgunder Riserva DOC 2021

  The “Flora” Pinot Bianco Riserva from the Girlan Winery is a prime example of the fine art of winemaking in the South Tyrolean wine-growing region. The grapes come from the vineyards of Girlan, Montiggl, and Eppan Berg, which are located at an altitude of 450 to 530 meters and are characterized by mineral-rich soils. After a short maceration period, the grapes are gently pressed, followed by natural sedimentation of the must. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with the wine remaining on the fine lees for eight months without malolactic fermentation in order to preserve freshness and aroma. This careful aging gives the wine its characteristic structure and elegance.

In the glass, Flora Pinot Blanc displays a brilliant straw-yellow color with green reflections. The bouquet is intense and complex, with aromas of elderflower, nettle, and citrus fruits accompanied by a subtle mineral note. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a balanced acidity and a pleasant saltiness on the finish. These characteristics make it an ideal accompaniment to dishes such as asparagus, seafood, or goat cheese. With an alcohol content of around 14% vol. and a storage potential of up to eight years, the “Flora” Pinot Blanc unfolds its aromatic diversity particularly well when served at a temperature of 10-12°C. - Gerardo [TS10/22]
