Indra · Sauvignon Blanc DOC 2024

  The Sauvignon “Indra” from the Girlan winery comes from selected vineyards around Girlan in South Tyrol and grows on glacial moraine soils at altitudes of around 400-500 meters. The combination of strong sunlight, the cool influence of the mountain air, and an afternoon breeze (“Ora”) from Lake Garda creates a wine with a fine expression of its origin. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged without the use of wood in order to best preserve the freshness and clarity typical of Sauvignon.

In the glass, Indra displays a light yellow-green hue, with a bouquet featuring pronounced notes of elderflower, nettle, gooseberry, and a subtle hint of herbs and citrus. On the palate, this white wine impresses with lively acidity, a distinct minerality in the finish, and a harmonious structure that combines freshness, depth, and elegance. Such a wine is an excellent accompaniment to seafood, light poultry dishes, or fresh asparagus variations—and impressively demonstrates how powerful and precise Sauvignon from South Tyrol can be. - Gerardo [TS10/25]
