Agricole Vallone | Puglia
Agricole Vallone was founded in 1934 by the two sisters Vittoria and Maria Teresa Vallone and has been family-owned ever since. Today, the large farm is successfully continued by Francesco Vallone. The management of the total of three farms was for decades in the hands of the agronomist Dr. Donato Lazzari and is currently taken over by Giuseppe Mallazini. Vallone's headquarters are located in Lecce. The winery consists of a total of three wineries, located in San Pancrazio Salentino with Tenuta Iore, in Carovigno with Tenuta Castelserranova and south of Brindisi with Tenuta Flaminio. In the cellar the winery is assisted by the two oenologists Severino Garofano and Graziana Grassini, the latter also known for her work at the Tenuta San Guido winery (Tuscany - Sassicaia). Together they prove year after year a good hand in the vinification of Vallone wines - and not only for the top wine of Vallone, the Graticciaia. - Gerardo [TS06/22]
"Among the avowed guardians of traditional Apulian wine, the Vallone sisters' winery, in existence since 1934, is one of the heavyweights. It includes the estates of Flaminio in the municipality of Brindisi, Iore in the municipality of San Pancrazio Salentino and Castelserranova in Carovigno. The various contingents of vines come from different eras - some are about half a century old - and thrive on calcareous clay soils." - Gambero Rosso [TS06/22]
