Arunda | South Tyrol

The Arunda sparkling wine cellar is one of South Tyrol's outstanding sparkling wine producers, combining high alpine altitude with classic bottle fermentation. Since its foundation in 1979, it has been committed to the pure Metodo Classico and produces at 1,200 meters above sea level, earning it the title of Europe's highest sparkling wine cellar.

With grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir, as well as a minimum of 30 months of aging on the lees, the result is elegant, complex sparkling wines. Under the direction of oenologist Wolfgang Tratter, traditional values are combined with modern innovation to express the potential of the Tschögglberg in bottle-aged sparkling wines. - Gerardo [TS12/25]

At an altitude of 1,200 meters, the Aranda sparkling wine cellar in Mölten above Terlan has been producing sparkling wine exclusively using the classic bottle fermentation method since 1979. This makes it the highest sparkling wine cellar in Europe. At an ideal natural temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, the sparkling wine is stored and matured on the fine lees for at least 36 months. 130,000 bottles are produced annually from the classic grape varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Wolfgang Tratter has been managing the winery as managing director and oenologist since 2023. - Falstaff
