Musella | Veneto
Musella - the independent winery of Maddalena Pasqua has been one of our insider tips from the Veneto for years: the carefully tended vineyards and green spaces of the Pasqua family transport the visitor into another world. Amidst the lush flora, one comes to the realization that man can indeed live in harmony with nature.
With the help of her extremely dedicated employees, Maddalena succeeded in converting the entire family farm to natural cultivation. Sheep, donkeys and cows are also among the 'employees' of the winery, as they keep the grass between the rows of vines short and provide fertilizer through their droppings.
The result is high quality wine products in small editions: among them Valpolicella, Ripasso and Rosso Veronese, flanked by high quality Rosato, white wine and a Frizzante produced according to the Pet-Nat method. The crowning glory is represented by Musella's various Amarone versions: From the very good basic Amarone to the Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva and the cult wine 'Senza Titolo' (wine without a name). - Gerardo [TS08/22]

Just outside Verona, on the hills of San Martino Buon Albergo, lies the Musella winery. Surrounded by ancient stone walls, the estate is based in a medieval farmstead. The family estate - an 18th century villa with an underground wine cellar is surrounded by woods, orchards, vineyards and rivers. Wine production has a long tradition at Musella: already in the nineteenth century Count Cesare Trezza di Musella expanded the vineyard area and developed the system of education for the Corvina, Corvinone, Negrara, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. - Gerardo
"...Walking in the vineyards of Maddalena Pasqua, one gains the joyful realization that man can live in harmony with nature and preserve the beautiful after all. Just over 40 hectares of vines feed the winery's production, consisting of the classic reds of Valpolicella." - Gambero Rosso
