Vermentino di Sardegna: a white wine with a Mediterranean character
Vermentino di Sardegna embodies the unique landscape and cultural diversity of the island of Sardinia like no other wine. As the most widespread white grape variety on the island, Vermentino is cultivated in various regions and styles, all of which are characterized by the Mediterranean climate, the different terroirs and the passion of the winemakers. Particularly noteworthy is the Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, which meets the highest quality standards and represents the crown of Sardinian white wines.

Regional varieties: A mirror of the island
Depending on the growing region, Vermentino di Sardegna displays a broad spectrum of aromas and styles. The best-known varieties include:

- Vermentino di Mejlogu from Bonnanaro in the province of Sassari, which is prized for its full body and distinctive structure.
- Vermentino di Berchidda, which originates from the province of Olbia-Tempio and stands out for its freshness and finesse.
- Vermentino di Alghero, a straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections, whose aromatic complexity and lively acidity make it ideal for aperitifs or fish dishes.

Other varieties such as the Vermentino della Romangia, di Monti, di Sorso or di Badesi offer additional facets and demonstrate the diversity of Vermentino in Sardinia. Each region brings its specific climatic and geological conditions to the wines, giving them an unmistakable signature.

Vermentino di Gallura DOCG: the highest quality level
Vermentino di Gallura DOCG is not only the best-known Vermentino in Sardinia, but also the first wine on the island to be awarded the highest Italian designation of origin. The growing area covers the entire north-eastern corner of Sardinia, the Gallura region, whose soils consist of weathered granite. These mineral soils contribute significantly to the elegant and complex style of Vermentino di Gallura.

The wines must contain at least 95% Vermentino, supplemented by up to 5% of other local grape varieties. Typical of this wine is its straw-yellow color with green reflections, its bouquet of white flowers and its mineral notes.
