Gaudio · Umbria Rosso IGT 2014

The idea behind Gaudio is to create an Umbrian Merlot with international appeal - and Corrado Bottai has succeeded: The intense bouquet is reminiscent of dark berries and blackberries, mixed with vanilla and smoky notes. On the palate, it is powerful and complex, with a long-lasting finish.

Gaudio is the result of the synergy between a non-indigenous grape variety and the potential of the terroir. Merlot, a grape variety originally planted further north, has fascinated Corrado Bottai since the early 1990s with the idea of capturing the power of the summer sun in a rich, soft and enveloping wine. Deep and rich ruby red in color, Gaudio opens in the glass with a broad aromatic bouquet that ranges from cherry to blackberry, from cocoa to tobacco and leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied, enveloping, with a good balance between tannic sensations and softness, opening up to an impressive clarity. - Gerardo [TS02/15]

Vin Santo del Chianti DOCG 2014

Vin Santo is the expression of the typical Tuscan dessert wine. The grapes Trebbiano, Malvasia and San Colombano are selected in the field and harvested late. After a drying period, the must is fermented for at least 4 years in small oak, cherry and chestnut barrels. Then the wine is bottled and aged in horizontal bottles for about 6 months. Arbóre · Cannonau di Sardegna Classico DOC 2014

This Cannonau Classico clearly bears the signature of Giuseppe Gabbas: the extremely selected grapes come from vines over 40 years old. A small proportion of the ancient Sardinian grape variety Muristellu gives the wine an aromatic profile and emphasizes the typical Cannonau characteristics. The spectrum of aromas ranges from blackberries to wild hedgerow roses and subtle toasty aromas. The wine is full-bodied without being opulent and of optimal concentration. - Gerardo [TS06/15]

Puer Apuliae · Nero di Troia Riserva DOC 2014

Valpo · Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC 2014 (Bio)

The deep dark and concentrated Rosso Veronese 'Valpo' has much of its 'big brother', the world-famous Amarone: the color is a rich garnet red, in the aroma of dried fruit, coffee and some licorice. Amarone della Valpolicella DOC 2014 (Bio)

The basic amarone is also given full attention at Musella: after drying, the grapes lose 35% of their own weight, concentrating fructose, aromas and tannins. The fine aromas, reminiscent of spicy herbs and black berries, create a well-rounded overall impression. Persistent and complex on the palate. - Gerardo [TS08/15]
