The uniqueness of this cuvée is deeply rooted, its originality has been consolidated over time: Pinot Grigio is the backbone of this wine, to which it gives structure, fullness, softness and warmth. The Gewürztraminer is decisive for the aromatic quality of the olfactory sensations. Riesling is crucial for the right acid balance and complexity of the taste. Of the three grape varieties, the first two are harvested late and their fermentation and aging take place in wood. Calto · Rosso Veronese IGT 2018

Going with the flow has never been the intention of the Campedelli family, which is behind the Marion winery. This is evident not only in the unusual for the Veneto grape varieties such as Teroldego, but also in the fantasy cuvee 'Calto'. This prestigious wine is nothing other than a very personal interpretation of Amarone, which, however, cannot be marketed as such due to legal regulations. The proportion of Teroldego provides additional fire, accordingly, this wine is intense:

I Sodi di San Niccolo - the flagship of Castellare di Castellina - comes from the vineyard around the church of San Niccolo: this almost pure Sangioveto (Sangiovese) is complemented with Malvasia Nera, both from vines almost 30 years old. The color is an intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The aroma is fruity and reminiscent of wild berries, underlined by spices and some vanilla. This wine reached the top 100 of Wine Specator magazine several times and also received the coveted award of 3 glasses in the wine guide Gambero Rosso.

Barren soils are a basic requirement for high quality wines. Therefore, the sites where the vine has to fight for water and food are the most sought-after for Tuscan winemakers. Description Sassicaia 2020: The harvest began in the first week of September with the grapes from the younger vineyards, starting with the Cabernet Franc, then continued with the Cabernet Sauvignon from the vineyards at lower altitudes and ended in the last week of September with the grapes from the hills above 300 meters above sea level.

The grapes were selected using a sorting table to eliminate impurities and imperfections. Gentle pressing and careful destemming of the grapes to preserve the integrity of the berries and avoid excessive transfer of tannins. Alcoholic fermentation was completed at the end of October and took place regularly and at controlled temperatures. Frequent racking and pumping over allowed for excellent aroma extraction and fresh acidity in the musts. Malolactic fermentation took place in steel tanks at the end of November. In the first week of December, the wine was racked into oak barriques after frequent decanting to clean the musts.

At the end of malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in barriques with 45% new wood, 45% first passage and 10% second passage. After more than 25 months of ageing in wood, the Sassicaia 2020 was transferred to steel tanks before final blending and bottling. It is then refined in the bottle before being released onto the market.

Description Sassicaia 2019: With its purist purity, the 2019 Sassicaia is close to the model of the perfect Cabernet: even after 51 vintages, Tenuta San Guido remains true to its roots and creates a dynamic and finesse-rich Maremma Cabernet that walks entirely on the paths of the great vintages. Sublime and multifaceted, the Sassicaia 51 still sees itself as a Tuscan super Tuscan blueprint, for which once even its own DOC was created.
