Especially in recent years, the quality has increased greatly; high-quality, finesse-rich wines are the result. The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is today one of the most famous growths of the area. In addition to the traditional rosés, some outstanding red wines come from the south of the Marche region. Mainly the grape varieties Sangiovese and Montepulciano are cultivated. Increasingly interesting is also the almost forgotten variety Pecorino, from which fine fruity, very pleasant to drink wines are prepared.
