  The “448 s.l.m.” Vernatsch from the Girlan Winery is an elegant red wine made entirely from the indigenous Vernatsch grape. The name refers to the altitude of the historic vineyard in Girlan (448 m above sea level), emphasizing the special terroir with mineral-rich soils from glacial sediments. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently fermented in stainless steel tanks, and then matured in concrete vats to optimally preserve freshness and varietal typicity.

In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant ruby red color with fine garnet red reflections. The nose is dominated by fresh fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries, complemented by delicate almond notes and violet blossoms. On the palate, it presents itself with lively acidity, fine structure, and an animating drinkability—weightless yet full of character. This Vernatsch is particularly suitable as an accompaniment to local snacks, light meat dishes, but also ideally slightly chilled in summer. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
