The history of the Terlan winery: tradition and quality since 1893
In 1893, one of the first winery cooperatives in South Tyrol was founded in the heart of the Terlan wine-growing region. Back then, 24 winegrowers joined forces to pool their strengths in production and marketing. Today, with 120 members, 150 hectares of vineyards and a total production of 1.4 million bottles, Kellerei Terlan is one of the leading wineries in the region.

Quality through careful production and technical expertise
The careful production of the Terlan winery plays a decisive role in quality assurance. Under the expert guidance of oenologist Rudi Kofler, 70% white and 30% red wines, all with the coveted DOC classification, are matured in the modern winery. Terlano wines reflect the special features of the climate and soil, with great importance being attached to preserving and emphasizing the terroir during vinification.

Flagships of the Terlan Winery: Sauvignon Winkl and Sauvignon Quarz
The flagships of the Terlan Winery include Sauvignon Winkl and Sauvignon Quarz. These wines embody the essence of the terroir and are known for their fruitiness, race and longevity. Careful vineyard work and targeted vinification result in unique wines that consolidate the reputation of the Terlan winery as a quality producer.

The Lagrein Porphyr: a red wine with character
In addition to the Sauvignons, the Lagrein Porphyr is also an outstanding product of the Terlan Winery. This red wine is characterized by its distinctive personality and impresses with its deep character and impressive density. It embodies the passion and skill of the Terlano winegrowers, who create their wines with dedication and expertise.

The special features of the Terlan terroir: microclimate and soil
The vineyards of Terlan extend from the gentle hills at the bottom of the valley to the steep mountain slopes with extreme vegetation conditions. The southern exposure ensures intense sunshine, which, together with the specific soil characteristics and microclimatic conditions, produces wines of exceptional character.

The sister winery Andrian: a partnership for quality and tradition
Not to be forgotten is the close connection to the sister winery Cantina Andrian, which also belongs to the Cantina Terlan Group. Together they continue the tradition and quality that characterize the heritage of South Tyrolean winegrowing culture. Through their partnership and their unique wines, Cantina Terlan and Cantina Andrian remain leading names in the world of wine.

Preserving the wine tradition: a look into the past
In addition to the continuous production of high-quality wines, Cantina Terlano also has a special obligation to preserve its wine tradition. For this reason, the winery keeps older vintages of white wine in order to present them later to interested visitors and wine lovers. These carefully stored treasures are not only a testimony to past vintages, but also a glimpse into the history and development of Terlano's terroir. This practice demonstrates the Terlan Winery's commitment to quality, tradition. - Gerardo [TS03/24]

"The meticulous classification of each winemaker's vineyard reflects this cooperative's intimate relationship with its growing region. The perfect interpretation of the diverse terroirs is the result of the stable and persistent success of these mineral, progressive wines that glide quietly through the years, as shown by the stocks of old bottles put aside since the time of Sebastian Stocker." - Gambero Rosso
