Vinschgau · Weißburgunder DOC 2022

  The Pinot Bianco “Vinschgau” from the Merano Winery is a clear expression of its alpine origins—its grapes are rooted on the barren, steep slopes of the Vinschgau Valley, where weathered slate, granite, and gneiss form the substrate. The vinification process focuses on lightness and precision: fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks, followed by storage on the fine lees to clearly reflect freshness, minerality, and origin in the glass.

In the glass, the wine is light straw to golden yellow with greenish reflections; the nose reveals notes of green apple, citrus, and summer stone fruit, underpinned by a fine, salty minerality that makes the stony terroir palpable. On the palate, a lively fruit note unfolds with a polished structure and medium density - the wine appears fresh, lean, yet full of character, an ideal accompaniment to light starters, fish dishes, or simply as an elegant wine to relax with. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
