Schreckbichl, South Tyrol
Merlot grapes, coming from 30 year old vines in the vineyard south of the village of Margreid, are the secret of this attractive wine. After a controlled maceration around 28 degrees C. in stainless steel vats, it is aged for about 6 months in large Slovenian oak barrels. This is followed by a few months of bottle aging. It presents a seductive ruby red color, fruity, full-bodied, powerful with the typical Merlot smoothness. - Gerardo [TS06/23]

Gerardo's Notes: The classic line as an upscale standard segment, offers single varietal white and red wines with lots of fruit and typicity. This grape variety has been cultivated in South Tyrol for about 100 years. The wine presents itself with a wonderful ruby red color; pleasant aroma of red berries and spices, fruity typical of the variety, sturdy on the palate, full-bodied and with the typical Merlot smoothness.
