Podere Giodo | Toskana
In the rolling hills of the Brunello region in Tuscany lies the renowned Giodo winery, run by the respected winemaker Carlo Ferrini. As one of the masters of Brunello, Ferrini is one of the most outstanding personalities in the Italian wine world. Giodo embodies the quintessence of Tuscan viticulture and is known for its first-class Brunello wines, which impress with their elegance, finesse and depth. - Gerardo [TS1/24]
"After years of searching, Carlo Ferrini found a small vineyard in the Brunello area in Sant'Angelo in Colle in 2001. Today, Ferrini owns six hectares of vineyards near the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, where only selected Sangiovese clones are planted. Much further south, on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, lie the other vineyards of the Giodo winery. Here, the grapes for Alberelli di Giodo ripen on old vines of the Nerello Mascalese variety. Both areas bear witness to the skill and passion of the winemaker, who is supported by his daughter Bianca." - Falstaff
"The small but fine winery of Carlo Ferrini, an internationally renowned winemaker, offers excellent wines from vineyards located in Montalcino, not far from Sesta, on the road between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Sant'Antimo." - Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine)

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019Podere Giodo, Tuscany
Only the best Sangiovese grapes from the estate are used for the production of Brunello di Montalcino. The long maturation - a good two and a half years - takes place in French oak barrels, followed by 18 months of refinement in the bottle, an essential time to give the Giodo Brunello di Montalcino elegance, balance and depth. On the palate it shows great class, a complex, profound, fascinating and intense wine without excessive opulence, soft and with an exceptionally long finish. - Gerardo [TS05/20]
