The Aragosta line of Cantina Santa Maria la Palma now includes six different labels, all of which are enjoying growing popularity worldwide. This success story began in 1967 with the Vermentino di Sardegna 'Aragosta" - a single varietal Vermentino from Alghero, Sardinia. This white wine has contributed significantly to the success of the Santa Maria la Palma winery and is now one of the best-selling wines in Italy. The trade magazine Wine Spectator also ennobled the Vermentino Aragosta by ranking it among the 100 best wines in terms of price-performance ratio.

Today the winery produces more than 30 different wines, including six wines from the Aragosta family. These include, in addition to the already described Vermentino di Sardegna Aragosta, a Rosato, two Frizzante and two Spumante. Of these, the Spumante Aragosta Brut is particularly noteworthy, which is adorned with a historic label ('Etichetta Storica') dating back to 1959. The Spumante Aragosta Brut Rosé, which was added a few years ago, also uses this historically inspired label with the memorable lobster drawing.
